About Our Leadership
Fr. Robert Dalgleish
Fr. Robert was born in Australia and became an American citizen after marrying his wife, Randi, a native of Seattle. They met while both teaching "outbush" in Alice Springs. They returned to the United States, where two degrees and three children later, Robert responded to the call of ministry. Prior to entering seminary, Robert served as founding director to two para-church organizations: The Northwest Christian Community Foundation, and Family Values Alliance. He wrote for Focus on the Family and also headed up Operation First Harvest, a hunger relief program.
The Dalgleish family opted to move to Vancouver, B.C. so that Robert could attend Regent College. He was awarded a Masters of Divinity degree in 1991.He credits his spiritual formation to such professors as J.I. Packer, Michael Green, James Houston and Gordon Fee ~an eclectic mix of orthodox, charismatic, and evangelical viewpoints.
Following his ordination, Robert served as senior pastor to two Presbyterian churches, one in New Orleans and one in Rochester, NY.He cherishes his friendships with each of these congregations, but felt the Lord leading him out of the PCUSA. Through a series of events, Robert had the opportunity to re-examine his idea of "church" and found it out of step with the denomination he served. In the Lord's timing, he renounced his Presbyterian affiliation and took the Sacred Vows as a mission priest with the International Community of the Charismatic Episcopal Church. At the time, he had no viable congregation, no visible means of support and no idea how the Lord was going to help him launch a new church! But that's the beauty of living by faith...
On February 29, 2004, a significant number of people were received into the Northeast Diocese of the Charismatic Episcopal Church by its Bishop. Trinity Communion Church became an official congregation!
Robert was no longer a mission priest, but a "father" with a viable, active faith community. A desire to be led on a spiritual journey which involves going "back to the future." and joining three streams of the worship experience together: charismatic, evangelical and sacramental/orthodoxy.
As a CEC priest is appointed to a church "for life," it is with a great sense of thanksgiving that the Lord has brought Robert and Randi to minister in the Rochester area.
Randi Dalgleish
As mentioned above, Randi went to Australia to teach after graduating from university. She and Robert met and married within four months ~ over 34 years ago! That union created three beautiful children ~ Adam is a captain in the Air Force, serving as a nurse anesthetist. He and his wife, Jenny, have four children and live in San Antonio. Lucas, after graduating from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, also became ordained as a priest in the Charismatic Episcopal Church movement and serves as a chaplain in the Air Force Reserves. He married Fr. Robert’s deacon’s daughter, Emily... a good way to promote church growth! Their youngest is a daughter, Hayley, and she is just beginning a two-year Masters Degree of Sacred Music degree at the University of Notre Dame.
When Randi isn't active in one of her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, or priest’s wife ~ she teaches middle school at Rochester Christian School. She and Fr. Robert enjoy a special relationship of working, playing and praying together!
