Glossary of G12 Terms

Cell

A small group meeting to evangelize, teach, or mentor others.

Cell leader

One who has been trained in the School of Leaders and is ready to open a cell.

Closed cell

A cell composed of 12 leaders and not open to additional members.

Consolidate

To care for each convert until the character of Christ is formed in him.

Consolidator

A cell leader trained to consolidate converts.

Disciple

To train new converts through the School of Leaders in all aspects of cell leadership.

Excellerate

A software program that tracks every facet of the G12 vision.

Encounter

A three-day weekend retreat designed to deliver believers from the “baggage” of the past.

Generation

All the cells developed under one of the pastor’s “twelve.” (Note: TCC’s usage of this term is different: we refer to a generation as the cells led by the members of a particular cell. For example, Fr. Rob’s cell is the first generation, the cells opened by the members of that group become the second generation, etc.)

G12

An acronym designating the “principle of twelve,” or the “government of twelve.”

Homogeneous cells

Cells that have a common factor of gender, age, or interest.

Ladder of success

Fourfold track of the G12 vision: win, consolidate, disciple, and send.

Leader

The goal of the vision to have every believer become a person of influence.

Macro cell meeting

All the cells of a “twelve” generation meeting together.

Multiplication

The process by which a G12 church experiences exponential growth.

Net meeting

A meeting in which all the generations of a given homogeneous group meet in an evangelistic service.

Open cell

Any cell that grows evangelistically, while building the cell leader’s “twelve.”

PEP

Ministry process of consolidation: Pre-Encounter, Encounter, and Post-Encounter.

Post-Encounter

Ten weeks of one-hour teachings on basic Christian living.

Prayer of three

Cell leader and two members pray for 30 days for three souls each to be saved.

Pre-Encounter

Seven lessons for preparing a candidate to attend an Encounter.

Re-Encounter

An Encounter for new cell leaders held in the second term of the School of Leaders.

School of Leaders

The discipleship track of three 12-week terms for leadership training.

Send

To open a cell and then build a “twelve,” to send men out to build “twelve” churches.

“Timothy”

A cell member or leader who is being prepared to become a part of a leader’s “twelve.”

Win

The initial step of the ladder of success that evangelizes the lost in a community.
