Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”   Acts 2:46-47

Life Groups at Trinity Communion Church are essential in realizing our mission of inviting people into an ever growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Life groups tend to meet in homes. They are intended to be small and interactive, promoting transparency and offering authenticity. In Life Groups we read and study the bible, enjoy relevant video series on a variety of topics, or read and discuss a topical book. We experience together what God has done, is doing, and will continue to do through our lives. We pray together, sharing the concerns and joys that arise as we journey with Christ in our everyday lives. We serve each other and the wider community, discovering and sharing the grace and love given to us by God in Jesus. Please prayerfully consider joining a Life Group.

Women’s Wednesday Night Bible Study

Does the Bible sometimes seem to be a confusing jumble of kings and shepherds, murderers and miracle workers? How do all of those characters fit together? Who were Isaiah, Balaam, Ehud or Gideon? Rather than looking at one section of the Bible, this women’s group will give you an overview of the story of the Bible. At this point, we are following the Israelites who have left Egypt and are soon to enter the Promised Land.

Sunday Women’s Bible Study

Fall Study: The Epistles of Peter and John As we begin our continuing study of the books of the New Testament, we will review 1st Peter with a fascinating video by the whimsical, talented producers of the Bible Project. We then will begin our in-depth study of 2nd Peter, enriched with commentaries such as the Life Application Bible. This has proven to provide good insights and stimulate heartfelt discussions into ways we can apply God’s word in our lives and in our relationship with Him. Please come and be a part of our small group community who love and support each other and God’s people as we learn and grow in faith. All women, ages 18 & up are welcomed.

The Circle Maker

I’ve never met anyone who said they pray too much! Most of us feel that we fall short. And we often feel like our prayers fall flat. But instead of feeling guilt, prayer should induce feelings of excitement because nothing is more powerful than kneeling before God Almighty in a posture of prayer. People also misunderstand prayer. God is not a genie in a bottle and our wish is not His command. Prayer isn’t about getting what we want from God. The ultimate objective of prayer is to discern and do the will of God. But if you pray in the will of God, for the glory of God, all bets are off. God honors bold prayers because bold prayers honor God.

In this Life Group we will be reading and discussing Mark Batterson’s book “The Circle Maker”. It’s a book based on a true legend of a Jewish hero who was famous for praying for rain. There is of course a lot more to it. Come to the group and you will find out.

For more information please email Fr. Eric Ockrin at eockrin@gmail.com or call at 585-698-0782. The group will meet Sunday evenings from 7:00pm-8:30pm in the Trinity Communion Church Library.

Start Date: September 23, 2018
